Join your hearts and lives with a “Cup Of Friendship & Tea!”
If you are going to Host a Christian Ladies Tea Party encourage each lady to invite a guest. Perhaps someone who does not attend church. Jesus teaches us to Minister to others.
You could also have a Mother & Daughter Tea Party.
You can incorporate the ideas on decorating, menus, favors, etc from the other Tea Parties I have listed here on this site.
Decorating: Decorate your tables in the traditional tea party way. With flowers, candles, linen, silver, china and crystal. If you have these things. You can coordinate with a chosen color.
Use floral arrangements in terra-cotta vases. Paint the vases in a solid color. Place a Graphic 'Rub-On' of teacup or teapot on the vase. Then print a verse around the top band of the vase with a Paint Pen. All these things can be found at the craft store. You could also give these out as door prizes!
Menu: Plan your menu with Tea Party sandwiches, scones and Devonshire cream, lemon curd, savories and sweets. Choose several flavors on hot tea and one iced tea or a tea punch.
Favor Ideas: A Tussy Mussy or a Ladies Fan would be nice. Then each lady could wear it or carry it to church with them at the next service.
Games: See game ideas that are listed on the other Tea Party Themes.
There is a need in today’s society by women to connect. Our lives are so busy. Many women work and are no longer home to chat with the neighbor next door while out side working in the garden. We need tea and encouragement. So connect with a cup of tea and encourage each other.
It is my hope that through a common interest in Tea, Women could build friendships with each other. We can create tighter bonds to those we love.
When I think of a Christian Ladies Tea Party I automatically associate it with hospitality. Since we all gather together in Christian love and enjoy each others company and a cup of tea!
Hospitality without love is incomplete. I once read an article that said:
“Hospitality and Love go together, like a Teacup & Saucer,
Both can stand alone, but one without the other is not complete.”
Jesus showed us his love and hospitality in the verse Matt. 11:28
“Come to me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Hospitality is Love In Action!
Read: Luke 10: 38-42. The story of Martha & Mary is an example of “Hospitality & Entertaining”
“Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and cane to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? Bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things; but one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
Martha was Entertaining: cooking the food and serving.
While Mary was showing Hospitality: welcoming and comforting.
Martha was worried about preparing a feast when only a drink and snack would do!
We need to learn this type of divine hospitality: Welcoming, openness, invitation, personal connection. To make others feel welcome, To invite them by opening our hearts and our homes, to get personally connected.
However, Hospitality does not force itself on others. Be sensitive to signals that people want to be left alone.
I pray that your Christian Ladies Tea Party goes well and that you create special bonds with one another. Make it a tradition to host an annual Tea Party!
